Sustainable roofing solution for the Synagogue in Rathmines: Kemperol V210 cold-applied liquid waterproofing membrane.
Laydex Building Solutions were asked by Desmond McGuirk Ltd to look at the roof of the Rathmines Synagogue and propose a suitable and long lasting roofing solution.
Upon inspection the asphalt roof in general was in good condition but could see signs of degrading as the UV and ozone had caused cracks and blisters throughout which was leading to water ingress. Laydex Roofing Division gave some options and the client was more than happy to go with the tried and tested Kemperol V210M seamless liquid applied waterproofing system. Once a small amount of localised repairs were completed to the asphalt the deck was primed with the Kemper D Primer, as you can see from the photo, which then sealed the roof. Once primed the V210M could then be installed and the 165g reinforcement fleece laid into the system and another layer on top to give a completely seamless roof.
The roof was installed to a very high standard and once completed a 20 year warranty was issued.
Kemperol V210M is a polyester resin-based, liquid waterproofing system applied with a fleece reinforcement. It adapts to the structure like a second skin and offers long-term protection down to the last detail – roof parapets, sky lights, ventilation pipes, metal supports and lightning protection rods are integrated in the surface waterproofing – without any seams or joints.
Kemperol V210M also conforms to FLL guidelines and qualifies as a root-resistant waterproofing system ideal for green roofs. In addition to flat roofs, the system is widely used in other difficult waterproofing applications – on planters, gutters and flashings.
Kemper System’s world renowned Kemperol® liquid roofing and waterproofing systems is exclusively distributed in Ireland by Laydex Building Solutions. For further information contact Laydex Roofing Division on 01 6426600 or at email@example.com.
