The Shelbourne Hotel Gutter Re-Lining

Project Overview

The Laydex Roofing Division were tasked with putting together a high end gutter specification for the overlay of approx. 120m2 at the Shelbourne Hotel’s cast iron gutters. Following technical input from CCM, the chosen products were RESITRIX SR Grey 2.5mm membrane onto primed cast iron with the FG35 primer.

The clients wanted a system that would be able to meet the movement capabilities that is needed when bonding to cast iron. RESITRIX having 400% expansion was more than capable and could be laid in 10m lengths to zero falls. Another reason why RESITRIX was accepted was because of its 50 years + life expectancy. The external gutters are not easy to access so the client wanted to seal the gutters and not have to worry about them again.

The installation was completed to a very high standard and once finished a 20 year warranty was provided.
